Visit our garden centre

Get up & Grow is a garden centre with a difference, the majority of the gardeners are people with disabilities. They work alongside our gardener Larry to prepare our produce for sale, to look after and maintain the plants and to deal with customers to the garden centre. We compete in the local market and are please that we have a very loyal return base of customers. We have always enjoyed the support of the Dungannon community and as we start to move out into the wider Mid Ulster district we are hoping that will continue to be the case.

The garden centre is open 5 days per week and on selected Saturdays during the summer. Opening hours are 9.30-4.30 daily.

If you are a novice or more experience gardener there are still some tips you can pick up . As part of our service Larry can help you choose plants to suit your garden suggest those that can coexist happily together and if necessary help you plan your planting scheme.

Seasonally we have in stock bedding plants and shrubs and we can source specialist plants and trees for you. We also offer a refilling service if you like to use your own pots or you can purchase some from us.

Buying a plant from Get up & Grow is different from buying one in any other garden centre, because when you spend money with us you are also contributing to the development of the services we can offer to local people with disabilities.

We had a social return on investment SROI carried out recently where we found that for every pound invested in us we give £5.75 in social value to the local community.

If you haven't been to garden centre before come and check it out also watch the local press for training workshops.

As part of our social mission we deliver training to Sperrin view School and St Patricks College Dungannon where they have been able to draw down funding from the Education Authority to have horticulture delivered to their students as part of the STEM curriculum some of these young people do a level two qualification with us and the pass rate is consistently high.

We are open to working with other schools primary and post primary so if your school is interested please get in touch.

We are also open to working with community groups so if you would like us to deliver a workshop.

Our fundraising Coffee, cakes and Crafts proved very popular this year with many more people coming out to support us. This was in part as a result of advertising it on face book. We raised over 1500 and sold loads of our handmade bespoke Christmas wreaths. We would forward to seeing you all again next December for the 2019 event. Thank you to all who took the time to come along, those who bought tickets and I must say the addition of the CHARITY SHOP was a real attraction for many of the ladies
